Pune is preferred center for higher education of students from all over the world
Pune : Federation of International Students Association-Pune (FISA-P) had organized Graduation Day recently at Westin Hotel, Koregaon Park Pune for foreign students studying in Pune. More than 300 Students from over 58 countries were present during this program. The purpose of the program was to give insight about celebrating and promoting the vivid diversity of culture. Prof. Dr. Sanjay Chordiya - Founder, President & Chairman of Suryadatta Group of Institutes was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. Other dignitaries present included Prof. Dr. Vijay Khare, Director of International Centre at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Mr. Shafiqullah Ibrahimi, Acting Consul General & Head of Cultural, Consulate of Afghanistan, Dr. S P Singh, Founder LPCPS and Prof. Nirupama Prakash, International Director, Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Mr. Abba Oumar - President of FISA-Pune and other student representatives.
The event started with Afghani dance & cultural program. After the cultural program. About 300 students from 58 countries including Chad, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Cameroon, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Zambia, Nigeria, Djibouti, Turkey, Gambia, Congo, South Africa, Angola, Malawi, Srilanka, Nepal, Rwanda, Kazakhstan, Burundi, Guinea, Lesotho, Ethiopia, Maldives, Ukraine, Russia, Ivory coast, Niger, Thailand, Botswana, Mozambique, Gabon, Benin republic, Swaziland, Madagascar, Eritrea, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Morocco, Somali, Mauritius and Seychelles were present for the event.
Prof. Dr. Sanjay Chordiya welcomed all the foreign students by saying ATITHI DEVO BHAVA as Indian tradition. He said that Suryadatta has had foreign students for the last 18 years. Till now more than 250 students from 33 foreign nations have passed out from Suryadatta. Suryadatta empathises with foreign students studying in India and therefore established a common forum under SURYADATTA INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL & CULTURAL CENTRE (SIECC) to facilitate the International Students’ stay and to help them to gain initial grounding for studies and stay.
The International students studying in Pune need support in their social & personal activities so that they can perform better. Suryadatta International Educational & Cultural Centre (SIECC) has regularly organised cultural programs, student meets, convocation ceremonies for International students. Dr. Chordiya added that the infrastructure at Suryadatta is always available for foreign students for their programs.Invitation also given to all the foreign students to experience value, tradition & academics at Suryadatta Group of Institutes. The gesture of parenting will be a concreting bond factor for Suryadatta, Pune and India at large between all these foreign Nationals.
Prof. Dr. Vijay Khare, Director International Centre, Savitribai Phule Pune University gave insights into the Foregin student policies, guidelines and other necessary information about the SPPU International Student Cell.
